Creepy Superstitions In The Philippines Part 5

Aside from wedding and funeral’s creepy superstitious beliefs, here are lists of other superstitions that still exists in every part of our country the Philippines.

Here are few more lists of creepy beliefs that still exist despite this computer era. Not even the modern technologies can erase these old tales in few places here in our country.

 

Singles must avoid singing while cooking:


>It is believed that if a single man/woman sings while cooking will either remain single forever or marry an old partner.

Never removed a plate if a single person is still eating or still at the dining table:
>This belief

means that, if a single person is still eating or still at the dining table and someone removed plates and other dishes from the dining table, the single person is likely to become hermit or an old-maid.

 

Bad luck from guest/visitor;


>Visitor or guest who hasn’t experienced sleeping at the host’s house shall not wash the dishes. This means bad luck for the host if the guest insists to wash or help clean the dishes after meal.

A broken glass or any breakable thing breaks during celebration means a warning;


/> >If something breakable breaks during a celebration it means bad luck or a warning. Therefore, the person who broke a thing must break another glass or any similar thing from what previously was broken, this ritual is to break the curse.

 

Visitors coming;


>During meal time if you accidentally dropped a fork it means a male visitor is coming.
>If you accidentally dropped a spoon, it means a female visitor is coming.
>If you accidentally dropped a ladle, they say an old person is coming. I am not sure if this is just a joke or really a part of old superstitions.
